Caractères / symptômes

Peu après la naissance: instabilité de la paroi de la boîte cornée, décollement progressif de la paroi du sabot, corne friable; les parois du sabot portant le poids se séparent de la boîte cornée et la sole du sabot doit supporter le poids de l’animal. Les quatre sabots sont atteints, troubles de la locomotion, douleurs et boiteries chroniques.

La maladie est incurable

Restriction sévère héréditaire de fonctions organiques (croissance de la corne et appareil locomoteur); douleurs et boiteries chroniques qui affectent fortement l’état général et la qualité de la vie

Diagnostic (examen ADN); les animaux atteints ne doivent pas être affectés à l’élevage; mesures palliatives (hoof repair kit), euthanasie
